Customer Service Representative

The Michigan Milk Producers Association is a dairy farmer owned cooperative and dairy processor. Founded in 1916, the MMPA serves dairy farmers in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio and Wisconsin. MMPA maintains a strong presence within the dairy industry with strategic business relationships through a variety of channels like processing shelf-stable, value added dairy products. MMPA has four member owned processing plants in Michigan, Indiana and Ohio, including Superior Dairy and the Middlebury Cheese Company. Products made at MMPA's plants include fluid milk, sour cream, cheese, ultra-filtered milk, cottage cheese, ice cream, butter, nonfat dry milk, cream and condensed skim milk. As a customer service representative, you'll be responsible for entering daily orders, arranging for hauling, completing documentation associated with orders and provide excellent customer service to our customers. Responsibilities:

Receive and enter customer orders with an awareness of special customer requirements. Arrange for hauling of associated orders. Develop an understanding of the order process flow from order input to cash collections and perform any and all required follow-up actions. Provide post-sales service for customer by resolving billing issues, providing certificates and product statements, and initiates the quality complaint process. Solicit information from customers regarding their specific and general needs. Determine root cause for problems as they arise and resolves them based on knowledge and experience. Anticipate problems and finds solutions to providing excellent customer service. Provide back-up assistance to others in the department. Perform other duties as requested by Manager, Sales Planning & Customer Services. Uniformly enforce policies and procedures among associates. Establish a positive working relationship with all clients and sales teams. Provide written and oral communication to customers, sales department, and other inter-company departments. Communicates with all members of leadership to help identify any customer issues and keep manager updated with information, observations, trends, or changes they observe. Monitor billing to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications:

5+ years of related experience in customer service environment. Order entry systems experience required. Excellent computer skills, working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook. Detail oriented with ability to multi-task. Problem solving ability. Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills. Basic dairy product knowledge. Ability to operate telephone, fax, scanner, and printer. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each responsibility satisfactorily.
