JOB TITLE: Director of Product Sales
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Director of Product Sales is a strategic and relational leader responsible for driving revenue growth through third‑party sales channels and direct engagement with churches. This role builds, expands, and optimizes partnerships—including distributors, resellers, bookstores, and church networks—to increase product reach and impact. The ideal candidate understands both ministry and marketplace dynamics, balancing data‑driven decision‑making with a heart for serving churches and equipping them with resources that help people know God through His Word.
Third-Party Sales Strategy & Management
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for third‑party accounts, including distributors, online retailers, bookstores, and ministry partners.
- Cultivate strong relationships with key partners (e.g., distributors, large church networks, Christian retail channels) to increase product visibility and performance.
- Analyze account performance, sales trends, pricing, and inventory to optimize revenue and forecast needs.
- Manage negotiations around terms, placements, promotions, and product launches.
- Oversee onboarding new partners and maintain ongoing account communication and support.
Church Sales & Relationship Development
- Build and nurture long‑term relationships with pastors, ministry leaders, and church decision‑makers.
- Develop a scalable church engagement strategy that increases product adoption across small groups, classes, and whole‑church initiatives.
- Identify and pursue church networks, denominations, and associations for partnership opportunities.
- Represent the organization at conferences, church leader events, and ministry gatherings.
- Work closely with the outreach team to ensure churches have the training, resources, and support needed to implement products effectively.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with the Product, Marketing, and Customer Experience teams to align sales initiatives with product launches, campaigns, and customer needs.
- Provide insights from the field to influence product roadmap, packaging, and pricing decisions.
Leadership & Reporting
- Lead and grow a small team of account managers or specialists as the department expands.
- Set KPI targets and monitor performance across channels.
- Prepare regular reports on sales progress, opportunities, risks, and strategic recommendations.
- Manage budget for sales initiatives, travel, and promotional activities.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- 7+ years of experience in sales, account management, or business development; experience in Christian publishing, ministry resources, or nonprofit environments strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, communication, marketing, or nonprofit management required; master’s degree preferred.
- Proven success building and scaling sales initiatives.
- Strong ability to build trust‑driven relationships with churches and ministry leaders.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- A strategic thinker who can also execute hands‑on activities.
- Comfortable working with CRM systems, sales data, and forecasting tools.
- Mission‑aligned and enthusiastic about equipping churches and individuals with biblical resources.
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, communication, marketing, or nonprofit management required; master’s degree preferred. 7+ years of experience in sales, account management, or business development; experience in Christian publishing, ministry resources, or nonprofit environments strongly preferred.
