Director of Utility Sales – Inverters

Our client, a global leader in renewable energy technology, designs and manufactures cutting-edge solar inverters for utility-scale, commercial, and industrial projects. Their solutions are enabling the clean energy transition by delivering high-performance, reliable products that maximize energy production and system efficiency.

They are seeking a Director of Utility Sales – Inverters to drive growth across utility-scale solar projects, including greenfield installations and the repowering or retrofit of existing assets. This is a senior, hands-on sales leadership role reporting directly to the US Country Manager.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the full sales lifecycle for complex utility-scale opportunities, including new installations and repowering/retrofit projects.
  • Develop and execute account strategies for key utility customers, IPPs, EPCs, and strategic partners.
  • Act as a trusted commercial advisor to customers, managing executive-level relationships, site visits, and technical-commercial discussions.
  • Support and mentor Sales Account Managers in opportunity development, deal execution, and market engagement.
  • Partner with Engineering, Product Management, and Service teams to ensure technical feasibility and seamless project delivery.
  • Contribute to sales process improvements and strategic initiatives in a growth-stage, dynamic organization.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • 10+ years of experience selling into the utility-scale PV or BESS markets – Inverter experience preferred.
  • Established network and strong relationships within the utility-scale solar and energy storage industry.
  • Strong executive presence with proven negotiation skills and the ability to influence cross-functional teams at all levels.
  • Proficient in CRM systems and enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms such as SAP.
  • A degree in Business, Engineering, ect or equivalent professional experience.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary Range: $155,000 – $180,000 base salary + commission
