A bit about the role:

This role reports to the Head of Growth, Shoptalk

We’re seeking a dynamic Business Development Director with a proven ability to open new business opportunities, cultivate meaningful relationships, and drive revenue growth. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, results-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

You should be a strategic thinker with excellent communication and organizational skills, capable of identifying emerging market opportunities and expanding established client relationships.

As part of your job, you’ll be:

  • Meeting and exceeding individual and team sales targets.
  • Building, managing, and growing a pipeline of new business within assigned markets or segments.
  • Identifying, prospecting, and closing new client opportunities while maintaining strong existing partnerships.
  • Respond promptly to client inquiries and prioritize engagement across all stages of the sales cycle.
  • Leveraging CRM tools to track activity, manage pipelines, and report progress accurately and efficiently.
  • Overseeing the full client journey from initial contact through successful project or service delivery.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with marketing, product, and operations teams to deliver effective client solutions.
  • Staying informed on industry trends and competitive landscapes to support business growth strategies.
  • Continuously researching markets to identify emerging opportunities and key decision-makers.

You have:

  • Strong consultative sales experience with a track record of success in B2B environments.
  • A high level of motivation, initiative, and professionalism, with a positive “can-do” mindset.
  • Proven ability to perform in a KPI-driven environment.
  • Experience developing and maintaining relationships with senior executives across enterprise accounts.
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills across all levels, both written and verbal.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems for managing accounts, pipelines, and lead development.
  • Prior experience in solution-based or service-oriented sales; event or technology sector background is a plus.

The benefits:

  • The salary band for this position ranges from $90,000 - 100,000 based on experience
  • This position will be eligible for a competitive bonus structure
