True North Evolution are seeking a board-certified psychiatrist to join our clinical team as the Medical Director, in a part-time consulting capacity.

The Medical Director will consult with True North’s full-time nurse, clinicians and other referring professionals regarding student medical care. This includes diagnostic evaluations and prescribing, overseeing medication changes, collaborating with clients’ home providers to review and refill currently prescribed medications and providing guidance to True North clinicians regarding student medication regimens and ongoing medication management. The Medical Director will typically see TN clients twice monthly, or as needed, with a combination of in-person visits and virtual appointments. This could be an ideal adjunct to a private practice. Compensation is structured in the form of annual contracts with a monthly retainer, and all client hours shall be billed directly to the clients by the Medical Director’s own practice at their current rates.

True North Evolution is a licensed residential treatment center located in the beautiful Green Mountains of Central Vermont, one hour south of Burlington, Vermont. True North is a small, independently owned program, providing personalized therapeutic interventions and transition support for young adult clients with an emphasis on assessment, wellness, community engagement and family participation. Responsibilities

  • Consult with the full-time nurse, clinical team, and referring professionals regarding the medical care of students
  • Conduct diagnostic evaluations and see clients at least twice monthly through a mix of in-person visits and virtual appointments
  • Prescribe medications, oversee all medication changes, and provide guidance to staff on ongoing medication regimens
  • Coordinate with clients' home providers to review and refill existing prescriptions, ensuring continuity of care during their stay

Qualifications

  • - Board-certified psychiatrist - Active license to practice medicine in the state of Vermont
  • - Previous experience in a consulting capacity or as a mental health professional in a healthcare treatment setting
  • - Must maintain an independent private practice, as client hours are billed directly through the director's own practice
  • - Proficiency in performing diagnostic evaluations and managing complex medication regimens for young adults
