Risk and Finance Divisional Data Office

team. This role is in New York City, NY

Join our

Risk and Finance Divisional Data Office

team as a

Finance Data Governance Implementation Lead , where you will drive the implementation of a robust

Data Governance Operating Model

for Finance reports and business processes. This work is critical to improving the quality of our most important data and delivering significant business value.

You will collaborate closely with

Data Leaders and Stewards

across BNY to ensure compliance with

Data Management Policy and Standards .

As part of

Data Solutions and Services , our Divisional Data Officer team designs, delivers, and promotes adoption of enterprise Data Governance processes, including: Data Quality Management Issue Management and Remediation Data Lineage Management Data Catalog and Business Glossary Management Key Responsibilities

Lead implementation of the

Data Governance Operating Model

to ensure quality, integrity, and governance of critical Finance data assets. Collaborate with stakeholders to drive sustainable data management practices and excellence. Partner with business units, data owners, and custodians to identify critical data assets, define data quality requirements, and establish data lineage. Work with data architecture, engineering, and metadata teams to ensure alignment with enterprise data management policies and standards. Provide timely reporting and escalate issues as needed. Serve as a

subject matter expert

on Data Governance best practices, offering guidance and support across Finance. Qualifications & Skills

Proven experience in

Data and Metadata Management , from concept through implementation, with a strong delivery track record. 13+ years of total experience , including

3-5 years in management

(preferred). Background in operational activities (business analysis, testing), reference data, or enterprise data governance is a plus. Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills; ability to manage competing priorities under pressure. Familiarity with

Agile methodology , including active participation in scrums (backlog refinement, sprint planning, execution) and backlog prioritization for iterative delivery. Deep understanding of

data governance principles , data quality management, and regulatory requirements. Experience with

data governance tools and technologies . Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex data issues and deliver effective solutions. Demonstrated

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $127,000 and $273,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs. This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
