This position is responsible for the Administration of the Bureau of Employment Relations, including the administration of the Labor Relations Section and providing executive leadership to its two divisions, the Mediation Division and the Wage and Hour Division. This position ensures adherence to the agency’s Statutes, Rules, Policies, and Procedures and that each division’s activities are conducted in accordance with applicable laws, rules, and protocols. In addition, this position serves as an advisor to the Employment Relations Commission and ensures fulfillment of the mission and goals of the Bureau through new, continued, and enhanced initiatives.

Education

Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.

Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school is preferred.

Education level typically acquired through completion of high school and three years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement supervisory experience at the 14 level; or, two years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement supervisory experience at the 15 level, may be substituted for the education and experience requirements.

Experience

Two years of professional managerial experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

For attorneys, must be a member in good standing with the State Bar of Michigan.
