Job Description and Summary
A member of the Moss Creek service professional staff is the face of our community. They are here to provide a positively memorable experience for all members and guests dining with us. Server Assistants are part of the heart and soul of dining presentation and cleanliness. Server Assistants are crucial in providing an attentive and pleasant dining experience for all members and guests through a number of different responsibilities. The Server Assistant will oversee and execute table clearing and cleanliness protocols, cleaning, resetting of tables, and keeping the service floor clean and organized at all times. The Server Assistant will also serve as a key link for members special requests for desired preferences in regards to table settings and heat or shade preferences. The Server Assistant is also crucial to clear and clean tables to reduce turnover time between parties and keep tables readily available for incoming members. They should familiarize themselves with menu items and specials and have a basic knowledge of beverages and beverage service.
Duties and Responsibilities
Is knowledgeable of the Levels of Performance service levels.
Focuses on, and prioritizes, member recognition.
Removes plates, utensils, and glassware from tables once diners have ceased use.
Resets tables.
Sweeps under and around departed tables.
Moves umbrellas and heaters for member’s request.
Runs used dishes, glassware, and utensil to dish pit.
Maintains a well‑organized and stocked service area.
Upholds all sanitation and safety protocols.
Assists in refilling beverages for service staff.
Preps dining areas prior to member’s arrival.
Keeps floors, tables, table surfaces clean and sanitized.
Assists with dining, banquet and event set up and placing tables and chairs, linens, glassware, silverware, plates and more as directed by the F&B Manager or Club Manager.
Cleans tables and chairs on a daily basis.
Assists with the correction of uneven tables and chairs.
Comes in to work on time with a positive attitude, in the correct uniform, neatly pressed.
Successfully and positively performs within work dynamics and under pressure.
Is always busy; if their tables are taken care of, they are helping other servers or doing side work.
Complies with all health and safety protocols involved in handling food.

Position will be required to work a varied schedule that includes evenings, nights, and weekends. You are part of a team who will ensure you have support and the ability to cover your time off.

Reporting Structure The Server Assistant reports to the Food and Beverage Manager who reports to the Club Manager.
Evaluation Process The Server Assistant can expect a formal annual review during Q4 of the current year. The Bartender can also expect periodic performance discussions with the Food and Beverage Manager as part of the organizations Levels of Performance System. These are periodic discussion where the Server Assistant and Food and Beverage Manager will discuss job performance and possible graduation, or decline in their Level of Service.
Physical Location and Hours The Server Assistant will work primarily from clubhouse and Bostwick Park locations. Location may change due to unforeseen circumstances or to create visibility of the administrative team or to assist other members of the leadership team at the direction of the Food and Beverage or Club Manager. It is expected that the Server Assistant will work with the Food and Beverage Manager to determine ongoing work hours for you and your direct reports.
Compensation Compensation will be commensurate with experience and performance. Compensation increases are discussed during the formal annual review.
Education and/or Experience
Minimum of 1‑year’s experience in hospitality or similar experience.
Knowledge of private residential communities in the Hilton Head Island area a plus.
Commitment to the goals and initiatives of the food and beverage department.
Effective oral communication skills.
Knowledge and dedication to professional development.
Proficiency in point‑of‑sale use.
Able to work collaboratively and in partnership with staff.
