Role Summary

The Key Account Manager is a field-based role representing Akebia products to physicians and healthcare professionals, and performing total territory account management. The KAM develops consultative relationships with Renal Healthcare Providers, provides comprehensive clinical and economic knowledge of Akebia products, presents the products’ value proposition to key stakeholders, and develops actionable territory business plans aimed at achieving and exceeding annual sales goals within a specific geography. Responsibilities

Prioritize local market opportunities amongst top tier health care professionals including nephrologists and renal dietitians and affiliated group practices and dialysis organizations facilities Develop and maintain a high level of product and disease area knowledge, Akebia product clinical data via approved materials with customers in a professional way Develop and evaluate account business plans to ensure they meet strategic goals and align with trends within key customer segments Present account business plans to management Communicate clinical and economic information to large group practices, physician executives, and medical directors in-line with promotional guidelines Demonstrate strong account management skills and detailed follow-up to support initiation and maintenance of patients on Akebia products Serve as a resource to customers and Akebia employees regarding payer policies, reimbursement regulations, Medicare/Medicaid rules, and related compliance Communicate and capitalize on open formulary access through effective implementation of targeting and pull-through plans Maximize use of approved resources to achieve territory and account level goals Stay current on marketplace developments and regulatory updates Qualifications

Required: Bachelor's degree Required: 5+ years pharma/account management selling experience Required: Valid driver’s license Preferred: Graduate business or healthcare related degree Preferred: Buy and bill experience and success Preferred: Biologic/biotech sales and reimbursement experience Preferred: Nephrology therapeutic area experience Skills

Strong account management and follow-up capabilities Ability to present clinical and economic information to physician executives and medical directors Additional Requirements

Travel: approximately 25% travel
