Job Description General Description: Director of Campus Operations provides direct support to the Campus Provost for the management and/or coordination of the campus budget and other non-academic functions of the campus. In addition, the Director of Campus Operations acts as a liaison between the campus and the college offices of Financial Services and Administrative Services to ensure effective coordination and completion of essential campus projects.
Duties and Tasks
Supervision of Campus Storeroom staff and operations
Campus coordination of fixed asset management processes
Space management
Emergency and safety planning/management
Special project management related to campus needs.
Acts as a liaison between the campus and the college offices of Financial Services and Administrative Services
Ensure effective coordination and completion of essential campus projects.
DCO plays an integral role in business continuity planning, especially as it relates to operations and logistics.
Make regular requests from employees for updates and input on college decisions and share feedback with supervisors for inclusion in the NOVA Brief.
Special Assignments May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications
Knowledge of operations, services, and activities of the campus
Knowledge of principles and procedures for tracking a large budget
Knowledge of processes and procedures for tracking and monitoring fixed assets to comply with Commonwealth requirements
Knowledge of NOVA , VCCS and/or State of Virginia polices and administrative processes.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Skilled in the use of computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite and spreadsheet preparation.
Skilled in budget management and tracking.
Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy to work with college administration, faculty, staff, students, and visitors.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
Experience with the use of computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite and spreadsheet preparation.
Supervisory experience.
Experience with budget tracking and management
Experience in an operational support role
Experience preparing reports
Additional Considerations
Experience working in a higher education environment.
Significant years of progressively responsible supervisory experience.
Significant experience with budget tracking and management
Experience with PeopleSoft Enterprise applications
Experience with facilities planning, space management, and coordinating renovation projects
Experience with emergency and safety planning/management
