Germanna Community College is a public, open access institution of higher education in the Virginia Community College System. Germanna Community College is seeking a full time Financial Aid Advisor ( ESS III ) to work in the Financial Aid Office at the Locust Grove Campus. The successful candidate will provide direct assistance and support services to staff and students in-person and virtually.
The primary responsibilities of this position include assisting students and families with financial aid options and processing federal, state, and institutional financial aid applications and files in accordance with federal, state, and institutional regulations. Some travel to other college locations may be required, as well as covering our Zoom room until 7pm, at least one night per week. Special Assignments May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor. KSA's/Required Qualifications Ability to work independently and analytically, exercise discretion and good judgment Ability to handle complex and detail-oriented workload Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff, including those from diverse backgrounds Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong organizational skills Additional Considerations
