Job Overview
JE Technology Solutions Inc. is seeking a Commercial Sales Lead to drive growth in the company’s commercial revenue streams, including contract manufacturing services, engineered safety platforms, and custom fabricated and engineered solutions.
This role is responsible for developing new commercial business opportunities, managing the commercial sales pipeline, and closing profitable deals aligned with the company’s manufacturing, fabrication, and engineering capabilities. The Commercial Sales Lead will partner closely with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain to ensure opportunities are strategically aligned with internal capacity, production capabilities, and margin expectations.
This position is intentionally designed as a player‑leader role, with a defined progression path to Commercial Sales Manager as commercial revenue and sales team scale increase.
Key Responsibilities
Own the full lifecycle of commercial sales opportunities, including lead generation, qualification, proposal development, negotiation, and contract execution.
Drive revenue growth across key commercial offerings, such as:
Contract manufacturing services
Custom fabrication solutions
Engineered products and platforms
Position JE Technology Solutions as a long‑term contract manufacturing partner, rather than a project‑based supplier.
Develop and execute a commercial sales strategy aligned with company growth objectives and operational capacity.
Maintain an accurate and disciplined commercial pipeline, forecast, and close plan.
Contract Manufacturing Development
Identify, pursue, and secure contract manufacturing opportunities, including:
Repeat‑build production programs
Long‑term production agreements
Make‑to‑print and build‑to‑spec manufacturing work
Evaluate opportunities based on:
Alignment with internal manufacturing capabilities
Production capacity and throughput requirements
Margin and profitability expectations
Collaborate cross‑functionally with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain to ensure:
Clear scope definition
Manufacturability
Sustainable production economics
Position JE Technology Solutions as a reliable and scalable manufacturing partner capable of supporting long‑term production programs.
Business Development & Customer Engagement
Identify and pursue new commercial markets, customers, and applications aligned with company capabilities.
Build strong relationships with commercial decision‑makers, including leaders in operations, engineering, sourcing, and executive management.
Conduct customer meetings, facility tours, and manufacturing capability reviews.
Represent the company at industry events, customer facilities, and technical or commercial review meetings.
Sales Execution & Cross‑Functional Coordination
Generate and manage requests for quotation (RFQs), proposals, and pricing packages for both project‑based and contract manufacturing opportunities.
Coordinate with internal teams to support the sales process, including:
Engineering for design intent and technical feasibility
Operations for capacity planning and scheduling alignment
Quality for compliance and customer requirements
Drive disciplined follow‑up and opportunity progression throughout the sales cycle.
Maintain accurate records within the company’s CRM system and ensure adherence to defined sales processes.
Reporting & Accountability
Report commercial sales performance directly to the General Manager.
Provide visibility and insights into:
Contract manufacturing pipeline versus project‑based work
Revenue mix and gross margin performance
Win/loss analysis and sales drivers
Market trends and customer feedback impacting business operations and strategy.
Requirements
Demonstrated success selling contract manufacturing services, preferably within: Metal fabrication, Engineered products, Aerospace or industrial manufacturing environments.
Experience securing repeat production programs or long‑term supply agreements.
Strong understanding of manufacturing economics, margin‑driven sales strategies, capacity‑constrained production environments.
Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, operations, and manufacturing leadership teams.
Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills.
Proficiency with CRM systems and sales pipeline management.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred.
Equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Continuing education or professional development in sales, manufacturing, or leadership is considered an asset.
