The
Interior Designer (Temporary)
supports the Studio Design team in the development, refinement, and implementation of
brand prototypes and design packages
across public areas and guestrooms. The role is
production- and documentation-focused , with emphasis on
FF&E selection/specification, value engineering, construction documentation updates, budgeting , and the creation of
finish sample packages
and internal tools.
Key Responsibilities Prototype & Package Development
Select, specify, and document
FF&E
to align with approved brand renderings and design intent.
Revise/update FF&E specs to reflect
value engineering (VE) , vendor substitutions, and product discontinuations.
Partner with vendors to source
budget-conscious, brand-appropriate
solutions.
Develop
preliminary budgets
and cost comparisons to keep concepts within targets.
Documentation & Technical Production
Create and update
interior construction document sets
to align with approved FF&E/finish specs.
Maintain FF&E data in
internal tracking tools
(e.g.,
Smartsheet
or similar).
Update composite sheets, order guides, and related documentation for prototype/package programs.
Build and maintain
internal tools
such as CAD blocks, image libraries, and
SketchUp
models.
Update
renderings
and visual materials to reflect approved changes.
Assemble
finish sample packages
for internal review, marketing, and member/partner use.
Assist with
collateral
to support rollout and marketing of new/updated design packages.
Program & Library Support
Organize and archive
prototype documentation
and digital assets.
Maintain
finish libraries
and sample materials; support internal design installs, vignettes, and studio initiatives.
Quality & Brand Standards
Ensure all deliverables align with
brand standards
and aesthetic guidelines.
Uphold
accuracy, organization, and attention to detail
across all outputs.
Qualifications Experience
3–5 years
of professional interior design experience in
hospitality, commercial, or prototype-based
environments.
Demonstrated experience in
FF&E specification writing
and
construction document production .
Hospitality or branded environment experience
strongly preferred .
Experience with
value engineering
and
vendor coordination
preferred.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in
Interior Design, Architecture , or related field; or equivalent combination of education/experience.
Skills
AutoCAD
proficiency
required ;
SketchUp
and rendering software
preferred
(e.g., Enscape, V-Ray, Lumion).
Experience writing/managing
FF&E specs
and developing
preliminary budgets .
Proficiency with
Microsoft Office ;
Smartsheet
or similar PM/database tools preferred.
Strong
organizational
skills, ability to
multitask
in a deadline-driven environment.
Clear
written, verbal, and visual
communication.
NCIDQ
certification preferred but not required.
Work Conditions
Temporary position; may require occasional
on-site visits
and
sample handling .
Ability to manage
multiple packages/prototypes
simultaneously.
