About the Middle East Forum
The Middle East Forum (MEF), a Philadelphia-based research center and activist organization, seeks a full-time East Coast Outreach Manager to support its growing fundraising and outreach operations. This is a remote position based in Florida, with regular travel throughout the East Coast for donor meetings, events, and community engagement.
The Middle East Forum promotes American interests in the Middle East and protects Western values from Middle Eastern threats. Founded in 1994 by Daniel Pipes, the Forum is an activist organization that combines research, investigations, government relations, litigation support, and field operations. MEF publishes the Middle East Quarterly, operates programs including Campus Watch, Islamist Watch, the Israel Victory Project, and the Iran Freedom Initiative, and maintains a track record of policy impact—including congressional testimony contributing to the elimination of billions in federal grants to organizations linked to terrorism and securing State Department terrorist designations for Iranian proxy groups.
About the Position Reporting to the Deputy Chief Operations Officer, the East Coast Outreach Manager will manage fundraising, donor relations, and outreach activities across the East Coast. This individual will represent MEF in Florida, the Southeast, and surrounding states, cultivating relationships with current and prospective donors, organizing regional events and lectures, and expanding MEF’s supporter base. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a passion for MEF’s mission, strong interpersonal skills, and a proven ability to build and sustain donor relationships.
Key Responsibilities Donor Cultivation & Major Gifts
Cultivate and steward relationships with current and prospective donors throughout the East Coast, with a focus on high-net-worth individuals.
Conduct face-to-face donor meetings, solicit major gifts, and develop personalized cultivation strategies for key supporters.
Research and identify new funding prospects, building a robust regional donor pipeline.
Ensure personalized, timely, and meaningful communications with all donors and prospects.
Maintain accurate donor records and activity logs in Salesforce.
Regional Events & Lectures
Plan and execute MEF lectures, briefings, and fundraising events in Florida and other East Coast cities.
Coordinate logistics for speaker engagements, donor receptions, and community forums.
Develop written materials, invitations, and follow-up communications for events.
Support the planning and execution of MEF’s annual policy conference and other national events as needed.
Reader & Subscriber Engagement
Engage MEF’s East Coast readers, subscribers, and supporters through outreach calls, correspondence, and in-person meetings.
Coordinate outreach efforts to cultivate and solicit lapsed and prospective donors.
Develop and deepen relationships with community leaders, activists, and organizations aligned with MEF’s mission.
Represent MEF at regional conferences, community events, and public forums.
Identify and research foundation and corporate funding opportunities in the East Coast.
Assist in the preparation of grant proposals, sponsorship packages, and funding applications.
Build relationships with foundation officers and corporate giving contacts in the region.
Track grant deadlines, reporting requirements, and stewardship obligations.
Qualifications
Alignment with MEF’s mission, outlook, and organizational values.
Basic understanding of Middle East foreign policy and related issues.
Minimum of two years of experience in fundraising, development, or a related field, preferably in a nonprofit or think tank environment.
Proven experience building and maintaining relationships with high-net-worth individuals, foundations, and corporate donors.
Track record of securing major gifts, grants, or sponsorships.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience using donor management software (Salesforce preferred) and fundraising tools.
Strong organizational and strategic planning skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a remote team.
Willingness to travel regularly throughout the East Coast for donor meetings and events.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in policy-oriented, advocacy, or think tank organizations.
Existing network of contacts among donors, foundations, or community organizations in the region.
Experience planning and executing fundraising events.
Familiarity with FundraiseUp or similar online fundraising platforms.
Knowledge of the philanthropic landscape on the East Coast.
This is a full-time, remote position based in Florida. The East Coast Outreach Manager will work from home while traveling regularly to meet with donors, attend events, and represent MEF throughout the region. Some national travel may be required for MEF’s annual conference and other organizational events.
Compensation and Benefits
Competitive salary range of $55,000–$65,000, commensurate with experience.
