
Commercial HVAC BIM Designer

This role focuses on designing and coordinating 3D commercial HVAC systems for new construction and renovation projects. Responsibilities include creating accurate models using BIM tools, supporting engineering and field teams, and ensuring all designs are install‑ready and aligned with Florida mechanical code requirements.
Responsibilities
Create detailed 3D HVAC models in Revit
Design chilled water and condenser water systems
Produce installation and fabrication drawings
Perform BIM coordination across trades, including clash detection
Collaborate closely with engineering, construction, and field teams
Ensure all models meet Florida mechanical code standards
Maintain documentation and model updates throughout the project lifecycle
Requirements
Experience with commercial HVAC piping and duct design
Strong proficiency with Revit (required)
Experience with Navisworks; SysQue is a plus
Background in a mechanical contractor or HVAC/MEP consulting engineering firm
Understanding of chilled water and condenser water system design
Ability to produce install‑ready drawings
Knowledge of Florida mechanical codes
Strong communication and collaboration with field + engineering teams
Preferred Experience
Experience with commercial projects such as healthcare, office, or institutional facilities
Exposure to BIM coordination meetings and multi‑trade collaboration
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred but not required)
Additional Notes The hiring manager prioritizes candidates with hands‑on HVAC system design experience, strong Revit skills, and a collaborative, humble personality. General CAD backgrounds, residential HVAC experience, and non‑HVAC modeling do not align with the required profile.
