Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill one (1) part-time (maximum 24 hours per week) Graphic Designer for Student Health Services at Oregon State University (OSU). The Division of Student Affairs enhances learning and the educational experience of OSU students. This graphic designer role supports Student Health & Wellbeing, a unit within the division responsible for health and wellness on campus, including medical care, prevention, advocacy, and wellness programs. The role collaborates with Marketing & Communications, Health Center staff, CAPE, Health Promotion, and CAPS to concept and develop print and digital marketing campaigns for the department.
The position is part of the Marketing & Communications team and requires a weekly 10 to 15-hour commitment during the academic year, with an option to return for subsequent academic years.

In this position, students will learn and build career-readiness skills in the following areas: Communication, Critical Thinking, Professionalism, and Technology.
Position Duties
Design and illustrate digital imagery for Student Health websites, social media, video, PowerPoint, and other electronic publications
Design printed awareness and marketing materials such as posters, brochures, publications, flyers, and signage
Participate in team or one-on-one meetings to conceptualize projects and provide status updates
Other related duties as needed, including on-campus outreach event setup or staffing
Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard: High School student, Undergraduate or post-baccalaureate student, Graduate student (various credit hour requirements per status)
International student requirements: full-time status definitions may vary; reduced course load can be approved by the Office of International Services (OIS)
Must be currently enrolled at OSU in fall 2026 in a relevant program
Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator); Canva or other AI design software are discouraged
Student in OSU’s graphic design program or related fields, or demonstrated layout and typography experience
Intermediate knowledge of visual design principles (contrast, hierarchy, shape, dominance, white space, balance, color)
A portfolio (print or online) showing examples of visual design work and/or multimedia production
Ability to give and receive constructive criticism respectfully
Preferred (Special) Qualifications
Understanding of OSU brand guidelines
Ability to illustrate objects, people, and ideas
Digital photography skills (indoor and outdoor)
Digital video, motion graphics, or audio production skills
Working Conditions / Work Schedule
The student worker generally may work between 10 and 15 hours per week (with a maximum of 24 hours).
This position is a hybrid role requiring in-person attendance each week
