Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill one (1) part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Student Marketing Assistant for the Student Health Services at Oregon State University ( OSU ).

The Marketing Assistant role will support Student Health & Wellbeing, a unit within the Student Affairs division that provides leadership for health and wellness on campus and contributes to student success through the provision of medical care, prevention, advocacy, and wellness programs and services.

Working with the marketing and communication staff, as well as employees in the Health Center, the Center for Advocacy, Prevention & Education ( CAPE ), Health Promotion office and Counseling & Psychological Services ( CAPS ), this position will assist with the creative conception and development of print and digital marketing campaigns and tasks for the department.

This position will be an integral part of the Marketing & Communications team and require a 10 to 15-hour commitment during the academic year with an option to return for the following academic years.

Onboarding:

Between June 1 and Sept. 11, 2026 (may occur remotely)

Sept. 14, 2026, to July 2, 2027

Position Duties

Design and illustration of digital imagery for the Student Health & Wellbeing websites, social media accounts, video, PowerPoint and other electronic publications

Design printed awareness and marketing materials such as posters, brochures, publications, flyers, and signage

Assist with maintenance of internal SharePoint website and materials for employees

Assist with photo and video shoots

Assist with department project management processes through Airtable software

Assist with tabling events and other on-campus outreach events

This position will participate in team or one-on-one meetings to conceptualize projects and provide status updates

Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study

Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment

Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard

High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term* Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*

Additional Required Qualifications

Intermediate knowledge of visual design principles (contrast, hierarchy, shape, dominance, white space, balance, color, etc.)

Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator

A portfolio (print or online) showing examples of marketing skills, visual design work and/or multimedia production

Willingness to learn new web-based tools, such as Drupal and Sharepoint

Ability to give and take respectful, constructive criticism

Preferred (Special) Qualifications

Understanding of and/or experience working within the OSU brand guidelines

Ability to illustrate objects, people and ideas

Digital photography skills, indoor and outdoor

Digital video, motion graphics or audio production skills

Working Conditions / Work Schedule

The student worker generally will be required to work between 10 and 15 hours per week (with a maximum of 24 hours).

This position is a hybrid role that requires in-person attendance each week.
