About the Role:
We are seeking a
Senior Multifamily Housing Financial Analyst
to serve as a key analytical partner to leadership.
This role reports directly to the Owner of an $8+ billion privately held real estate portfolio
, offering a rare opportunity to gain direct exposure to executive decision-making and learn from one of the most experienced leaders in the multifamily industry.
You will analyze
multifamily market trends alongside property-level financial performance
to deliver insights that guide investment decisions, asset strategy, and operational improvements.
This role also contributes to company communications with major industry organizations and capital partners, including the
National Multifamily Housing Council, National Apartment Association, Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac , by providing deeper insights into market supply, vacancy trends, and portfolio performance.
Key Responsibilities
Market & Industry Analysis: Analyze multifamily trends:
supply, demand, vacancy, rent growth, and construction pipelines
Use
CoStar, RealPage, Yardi Matrix, FRED, Census, and BLS
Identify reporting gaps such as
lease-ups, unstabilized assets, shadow supply
Deliver insights to
leadership and ownership
Evaluate portfolio to identify
underperforming assets and improvement opportunities
Support strategy development to improve asset performance
Build and maintain
advanced Excel financial models
Perform
scenario analysis, forecasting, and performance modeling
Apply
DCF, pro forma, and real estate finance fundamentals
Executive Reporting
Create
reports, dashboards, and presentations
for ownership and senior leadership
Translate complex data into
clear, actionable recommendations
Support materials for
industry engagement and external communications
Property Visits & Industry Engagement
Travel to properties for
performance and operational reviews
Attend conferences to stay current on
multifamily trends and market intelligence
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in
Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or related field
3–5 years of financial analysis experience in multifamily real estate
Proven ability to analyze
multifamily property financials and market performance
Advanced
Excel and financial modeling skills
(DCF, pro formas, cap rates, cash-on-cash)
Experience with
CoStar or similar CRE data platforms
(Yardi Voyager required)
Strong analytical thinking and
ability to synthesize large datasets into executive insights
Willingness to travel up to 25%
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with
Power BI or data visualization tools
Experience with
GSEs, industry associations, or policy audiences
$80,000–$90,000 annually (DOE)
