Mechanical Designer,
responsible for creating, developing, and improving mechanical components, products, and systems using engineering principles and computer-aided design (CAD) software. They work closely with engineers, manufacturing teams, and project managers to ensure designs meet functional, safety, and cost requirements. Responsibilities
Create detailed
2D and 3D mechanical designs
using AutoCAD, or Autodesk Inventor. Assists in the development of drawing standards and shop processes. Develop technical drawings, layouts, and specifications for structural & mechanical components and assemblies. Collaborate with engineers to convert conceptual designs into manufacturable products. Modify and update existing designs to improve performance, reliability, and cost efficiency. Take task/projects from conception to completion in a timely manner. Perform basic engineering calculations and accurate tolerance analysis. Prepare
Bills of Materials (BOMs)
and product documentation. Coordinate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs can be produced effectively. Support prototype development and testing. Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company guidelines. Coordinate design within machine capabilities of shop fiber laser and press brake. Required Skills
Proficiency in
CAD software
and 3D modeling tools. Strong understanding of
mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes . Ability to read and interpret
technical drawings and engineering specifications . Problem-solving and analytical thinking skills. Self-Starter with the ability to identify and resolve issues independently. Attention to detail and accuracy. CNC programing experience with Amada laser and press brake software (preferred) Good communication and teamwork skills. Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in
Mechanical or Structural Engineering , Engineering Technology, or a related field. 2–5 years of experience in mechanical design or drafting (varies by company). Experience with CAD tools such as inventor or AutoCAD preferred. For the employee
