Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

One year of college coursework in Accounting or a related field and two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Customer service experience. The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in general accounting practices (including the use of debits and credits) and familiarity with GAAP, along with strong professional communication skills for working effectively with diverse students, staff, and faculty. Proficiency with Excel, Word, email platforms, web-based portals, and database systems is required, as well as a high level of attention to detail and accuracy. The successful candidate can manage a high volume of work, meet deadlines, and remain effective amid frequent interruptions. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, the capacity to work independently and as part of a team, and the ability to collaborate across university departments are essential. The position also requires sound judgment in interpreting and applying university policies, rules, and regulations to student accounts. Preferred/Additional Experience:

Experience with Banner or other accounting information systems is preferred and will support efficient, accurate work within a fast-paced student accounts environment. Position Details

This is an in-person position located on the University of Alaska, Anchorage campus in Anchorage, AK. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position with a competitive salary and a full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage.
