We are seeking a highly skilled
Account Type Writer – Marketing (Wikipedia)
to manage, create, and maintain brand‑aligned content across Wikipedia and related digital knowledge platforms. This role combines
marketing communication expertise, research skills, and a deep understanding of Wikipedia’s policies
to help strengthen the organization’s digital presence, brand credibility, and online discoverability. The ideal candidate has strong experience in
neutral, fact‑based writing , understands
COI (Conflict of Interest) guidelines , and can collaborate with internal teams to ensure all publicly available content is accurate, verifiable, and aligned with global standards.
Skill Set:
Strong command of English grammar, research, citation standards, and encyclopedic style writing.
Key Responsibilities
Create, edit, and maintain Wikipedia pages for the company, its executives, products, and related entities in compliance with Wikipedia’s Neutral Point of View (NPOV), verifiability, and notability guidelines.
Conduct extensive research using reliable secondary sources, ensuring all content meets citation and sourcing standards.
Monitor and track changes to brand‑related Wikipedia pages, addressing inaccuracies or vandalism through community‑approved methods.
Collaborate with Wikipedia editors ethically to improve page quality, resolve disputes, and maintain compliance.
Develop accurate, unbiased, and research‑driven content that enhances organizational credibility while preserving Wikipedia neutrality.
Translate complex business, product, or leadership information into well‑structured, encyclopedic content.
Support Marketing, PR, and Communications teams with content needed for digital reputation and brand visibility efforts.
Craft supporting documents, citations, and reference materials to strengthen page notability.
Requirements Required Qualifications:
3–7+ years of experience in content writing, digital marketing, or technical writing.
Demonstrated experience editing Wikipedia pages (personal, professional, or volunteer).
Strong command of English grammar, research, citation standards, and encyclopedic style writing.
Familiarity with Wikipedia policies:
Neutral Point of View (NPOV)
Conflict of Interest (COI)
Verifiability
Notability criteria
Experience with research tools, online databases, and fact‑checking.
Ability to translate complex information into neutral, well‑structured content.
Strong attention to detail, ethics, and documentation quality.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage sensitive information responsibly.
Preferred Qualifications:
