Overview Client – SVP Equipment Generalist (West Coast)

Comp:

$130K–$162K base + commission

OTE:

Up to 70% of base (cap at 100% of base salary total commission)

Location:

Fully Remote (West Coast Territory – LA, OR, AZ open)

Travel:

~50% (territory development & client meetings)

Role Overview: Senior-level

New Business Development (NBD)

sales role focused on

leased capital equipment . This is a

direct sales hunter role , not a vendor rep and not account management. Candidates will

build and develop territory with strong autonomy .

Market volume:

$20–25M opportunity

Target Markets / Industries

Construction (Yellow Iron)

Transportation

Industrial

Factory equipment (conveyor belts, trucks, trailers, garbage trucks, etc.)

Technology equipment tied to industrial use

Will NOT consider:

Healthcare

SaaS

Marine or aviation products

Pure vendor reps

Pure banking backgrounds (without leasing sales experience)

Ideal Candidate Profile

10+ years equipment leasing sales experience (required)

Strong

New Business Development (hunter mentality)

Experience selling

leased capital equipment (products, not services/SaaS)

Proven ability to

develop territory from scratch

Comfortable targeting

$1M+ revenue customers (avg. $1M–$10M)

Strong

pricing experience

Able to operate independently –

“CEO of your own desk”

College educated

Comfortable engaging

C-Suite (target: meet C-Suite 7/10 meetings)

Self-starter who can

push internally for underwriting/marketing support

Virtual – 45 minutes with Hiring Manager

2nd Round:

Virtual – 45 minutes with Panel

3rd Round:

Final virtual interview with Director

Responsibilities The SVP Equipment – Generalist is responsible for developing new customer contacts directly with no vendor focus, identifying and pursuing new sales opportunities (hunter), and identifying and pursuing new incremental opportunities from the existing portfolio to realize sales objectives on new business volume and profitability objectives.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Market and Sales Plan

Analyze market segments and identify target opportunities

Contribute to the country market and sales plan

Align local sales and relationship activities with the country sales plan

Sales Lead Origination

Identify and actively pursue sales opportunities

Ensure consistent follow-up aligned with the country sales plan

Contribute to

new business volume (NBV), profitability, and lease conversion rate

Sales Visits

Visit relationships and prospects

Introduce

client financing opportunities , including commercial finance and non-standard product offerings

Promote financing solutions to prospects and relationships

Transactions / Deals

Structure transactions and deals with direct customers

Involve relevant internal expertise (credit risk, fiscal, legal, etc.)

Balance stakeholder interests while meeting customer business needs

Relationship Management

Manage new business relationships throughout the lifecycle

Conduct regular meetings with customers and internal counterparts

Optimize business outcomes, customer satisfaction, and profitability

Product Development

Identify opportunities for product/service improvements (MES, service offerings, working capital, Pay Per Use (PPU))

Support evolving customer needs for

flexibility and transparency

Essentials

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

10+ years of experience

in the finance market and relevant leasing markets

Proven ability identifying prospects and developing business plans

Experience working with

C-Suite level clients

50%+ travel

with expectations to secure meetings with

CFO/CEO level contacts

Industry expertise in

CapEx heavy businesses

Ability to

structure asset-backed transactions

Extensive

existing prospect list / relationship leverage

Advanced leasing knowledge across

multiple asset types

Ability to collaborate internally across

credit, operations, and legal

Strong

negotiation, pricing, and product development collaboration

Team-oriented with ability to coordinate across internal stakeholders
