The digital communications specialist works in collaboration with the director of communications and other members of the communications team. The digital communications specialist develops and manages content (posts, photos, short videos) across the school’s digital channels; monitors and manages digital communications to ensure effective and positive engagement with the school community; and serves as the primary manager of the school’s digital communications platforms (bulk email, social, website, and related systems/platforms). Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Collaborate with the communications team to identify compelling concepts and content that align with the school’s strategic and tactical goals. Gather content assets (photos, videos, quotes, story details) as needed. Author and edit articles, posts, recaps, roundups, announcements, and other content in alignment with the team’s project schedule and editorial priorities. Draft, edit, assemble/layout, and publish scheduled email newsletters and other incidental bulk mail. Create and publish balanced, well-considered content for social media. Manage website content and administration ensuring complete, accurate, and up-to-date information. Assist in the management and organization of communications photo and video asset libraries. Keep current with digital marketing strategies, technologies, and tactics, and advise the team on changes to strategy. Support team projects and assignments as needed (e.g., all hands projects, occasional night/weekend event support). Contribute to team goals as new priorities emerge. Job Requirements

Two or more years of relevant experience. Outstanding attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal skills: comfort, confidence, and tact. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills to facilitate independent work across a wide range of tasks. Strong ability to learn independently in a constantly evolving field. Familiarity with creative tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or Affinity Suite. Familiarity with Google Suite or Microsoft Office. Familiarity with website content management systems (e.g., Wordpress, Weebly, Squarespace). Ability to work independently, yet contribute as a member of the team. Ability to flex schedule to ensure coverage of school events occurring outside of standard business hours. Physical Demands

Ability to conduct prolonged computer use and highly repetitive motion such as typing, using a mouse, assembling materials, interacting with tools, equipment, and design software. Precision and dexterity of motor skills to support detailed work. Visual acuity and tolerance of moving images, variable lighting, etc. Ability to distinguish the full range of color. Occasional lifting of books, papers, or equipment with weights up to 50 pounds. Movement around the office and campus for meetings, set up for presentations, printer access, photo/video library access, access to various campus locations for creative work or programmatic support.
