The Pricing Strategist is responsible for determining and implementing pricing strategies used on bids. This role works closely with estimating, sales, project management, purchasing, and operations teams to ensure bids are accurate, competitive, and profitable. By analyzing project details and market conditions, the Pricing Strategist helps ensure bids are submitted on time while supporting the company’s overall profitability and growth. Develop and implement pricing strategies to support company profitability and market competitiveness. Analyze project data and cost structures to determine optimal pricing for bids. Collaborate closely with estimating, sales, project management, purchasing, and operations teams to determine and set pricing. Utilize product knowledge to adjust cost categories to remain competitive while protecting project budgets. Ensure bids are complete, accurate, and submitted on time. Provide quality control of upstream pre-sales functions including takeoff and estimation. Support continuous improvement efforts to increase quote response time and product profitability. Use proprietary tools and internal systems to analyze project information and pricing opportunities. Review large sets of data to identify pricing trends and provide recommendations to leadership. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and evaluate large data sets. Understanding of value-based selling and pricing strategy principles. Clear, concise verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work cross-functional and collaborate effectively with multiple departments. Strong organizational and project management skills in a fast-paced environment. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis. Ability to think strategically while maintaining attention to detail. Bachelor’s degree required; previous estimating experience in the metal building industry may be considered in lieu of a degree. Minimum of four (4) years of experience in pricing, finance, estimating, or a related business role. Experience with pricing models, regression analysis, or statistical modeling preferred. Working in-person from the Athens, TX office is preferred; remote work may be available after an initial in-office training period.
