
Assistant or Associate Athletic Director for Compliance

Overview
The Assistant or Associate Athletic Director for Compliance is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring policies and procedures to ensure compliance with university, NCAA, and conference rules and regulations. This position provides rules education and interpretive guidance to coaches, administrators, student-athletes, and university representatives in areas including recruiting, financial aid, amateurism, and eligibility. The position also oversees compliance reporting, eligibility certification, and the management of compliance staff. Responsibilities Compliance Administration
Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures to ensure compliance with NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations.
Provide ongoing NCAA rules education for athletics staff, student-athletes, boosters, and other university personnel.
Serve as the primary liaison between the institution and the NCAA and conference offices.
Request formal NCAA and/or conference rules interpretations as needed in response to questions from coaches and staff.
Monitor and communicate NCAA legislative changes to appropriate campus partners including the Financial Aid Office, Registrar, and other compliance stakeholders.
Investigate and report potential NCAA violations in accordance with Big South Conference and NCAA policies.
Prepare institutional responses and documentation related to NCAA violations.
Eligibility and Student-Athlete Oversight
Oversee the certification process for initial, continuing, and transfer student-athlete eligibility in accordance with NCAA regulations.
Ensure proper monitoring of recruiting, financial aid, amateurism, and eligibility requirements.
Reporting and Documentation
Oversee the completion and submission of required institutional and NCAA reports, including:
NCAA Financial Reports
Academic Reports
Sport Sponsorship Report
Title IX Attestation
NCAA Compliance Attestation
Federal Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act (EADA) Report
NCAA Probation Reports (if applicable)
Academic Progress Rate (APR) Improvement Plans
Policy and Department Coordination
Maintain and update institutional compliance documentation including:
Institutional Compliance Manual
Student-Athlete Handbooks
Athletics Department Hurricane Policy
Serve as the athletics department liaison to the following campus offices:
Housing
Financial Aid
International Programs
Admissions
Supervision Supervise and manage compliance staff.
Other Duties Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Athletics Department and university.
