Overview
401k, Dental Insurance, Life Insurance, Medical Insurance, Vision POSITION SUMMARY Under the supervision of the Grants Project Director/DCEO and in coordination with Site Coordinators, the Family Engagement Specialist will design, coordinate, oversee, recruit, and direct programs and activities that encourage family and parental involvement in the school and at the club site. The Family Engagement Specialist will provide ongoing educational programs to immediate family members and parents/legal guardians of students enrolled in Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Texas' 21st Century Community Learning Center - Texas ACE Program.
Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, and implement the Family Engagement Program in a manner consistent with the Texas ACE Blueprint.
Support Needs Assessments activities to determine the types of services to offer families for each ACE center.
Maintain regular communication with all parents and develop supportive relationships for ACE Program activities and plan, organize, and promote consistent participation by families.
Provide family-focused Behavior and Academic Intervention case management to no less than 20 participating families across all ACE sites throughout 9–week intervention program periods.
Collaborate with Texas ACE feeder campus Parent Liaison staff to promote attendance / participation in Title I parent engagement activities.
Encourage families to participate in their children\'s education and to strengthen the skills needed to support their children\'s academic growth and success by creating and implementing both family fun and parent enrichment activities on a consistent basis.
Promote & recruit parent and community volunteer involvement.
Work closely with the campus and parent/teacher organizations.
Track & maintain family participation data as required by the Texas 21st Century Grant; prepare & provide reports as required.
Attend all required Texas ACE trainings, webinars, conference calls, and meetings pertaining to position.
Be available to work flexible hours to accommodate evening and weekend activities.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Skills / Knowledge Required
Bachelor\'s degree from an accredited college or university, or certification in specialty area, or combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 3 years experience in an educational setting, data reporting, and management information systems.
Competence in program development, marketing, implementation, and evaluation.
Working knowledge of local youth/family service organizations.
Strong written / verbal communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills with people from all social, educational, and economic backgrounds.
Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to meet established deadlines.
High degree of computer proficiency using various computer software systems such as Microsoft Office & familiarity to the internet.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
Exposure to outdoor weather conditions and periods of loud or excessive noises
