Fashion Designer Job at Motion Recruitment in New York

Our client, an American retailer that owns and operates 4 brands that are well known, is looking for someone to join their team as a Designer. This role is onsite in New York City, New York.

*This is a 6-month W2 contract*

In this role, you will be responsible for creating original concepts that encompass style, color and fabric as a result of interpreting fashion trends.

What You Will Be Doing

• Produce sketches and make seasonal presentations of proposed designs
• Analyze fashion trends
• Partner with sourcing and materials development teams
• Provide basic fit and body block information and attend fit sessions
• Make appropriate adjustments with factories as required to ensure integrity of design approved prototypes while monitoring quality and targeted price

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree
• 4+ years' experience in girls or women's design (knits or wovens)
• Proficient with Centric and Adobe Illustrator
• Experience working with vendors/factories
