Environmental Graphic Designer
Location: Beaverton, OR (In-Office preferred, Hybrid negotiable)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Entry-Level
About Us
We are a multidisciplinary design and fabrication studio specializing in environmental graphic design and architectural signage. We translate vision into fabrication-ready solutions—balancing creativity, constructability, and precision at every stage. Our teams collaborate closely across creative, project management, fabrication, and installation to deliver cohesive, enduring environments for mixed-use, commercial, civic, education, healthcare, hospitality, and large-scale campus clients. We believe great design doesn’t stop at concept—it carries through materials, detailing, and execution.
The Role
We’re seeking an Entry-Level Environmental Graphic Designer to join our creative team. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career designer who is excited to work on real, built projects and wants to learn how design moves from concept to fabrication to installation. You’ll support the design team in developing graphic systems, signage layouts, and environmental applications while gaining hands‑on exposure to production methods, materials, and architectural coordination.
What You’ll Do
Assist in the design and development of environmental graphics and signage systems
Create layouts, elevations, and graphic compositions for interior and exterior environments
Prepare design files for internal review, client presentations, and production
Revise artwork based on redlines and feedback from clients, architects, and internal teams
Support the creation of presentation materials, mockups, and visual studies
Organize and maintain design files according to internal standards
Collaborate with project managers, fabricators, and installers to understand real‑world constraints and opportunities
Learn and apply fabrication‑aware design practices (materials, finishes, mounting methods, ADA considerations, etc.)
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Environmental Design, Visual Communication, or a related field
Strong foundational design skills: typography, layout, hierarchy, and visual systems
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator (required); familiarity with InDesign and Photoshop preferred
Interest in environmental graphic design, signage, wayfinding, or experiential design
Ability to take direction, accept feedback, and iterate thoughtfully
Strong attention to detail and file organization
Curiosity about how things are made—not just how they look
Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Nice to Have (Not Required)
Exposure to architectural drawings (plans, elevations, sections)
Familiarity with ADA signage requirements
Experience preparing files for print or fabrication
Basic understanding of materials like acrylic, metal, vinyl, or digital print
Internship or studio experience in signage, exhibit, or environmental design
What You’ll Gain
Mentorship from experienced environmental graphic designers
Exposure to large-scale, built projects from concept through installation
A deeper understanding of fabrication‑driven design
Opportunities to grow your role and responsibilities over time
A collaborative, respectful studio culture that values craft and clarity
