A leading provider of supply chain solutions to the healthcare industry seeks experienced candidates for the position of Interface Specialist.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical skill set, positive attitude, willingness to work long hours as needed, and the ability to complete projects on time - every time. This position requires integrating our system with various Healthcare Information Systems (HIS) such as Materials Managements Information Systems (MMIS) and Electronic Health Records (HER) systems.

Interface Implementation

  • Comprehension on specifications and identifying development needs to be meet them.
  • Consultation with supervisor and teammates to determine the best methods for interfacing with other systems.
  • Familiarity with protocols such as HL7, FTP, TCP/IP, and other industry standard interface formats.
  • Testing and identifying potential problems and/or bugs.
  • Documentation of new interfaces and changes made to existing interfaces.
  • Participation in interface go-lives.
  • Windows networking (UNC, network shares, drive mappings).
  • General knowledge of the Microsoft Windows Registry.
Customer Support
  • High-level technical support (primarily for interfaces).
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Interaction with help desk staff for incidents pertaining to interfaces.
  • Transitioning support of interfaces to help desk after a stabilization period has passed.
  • Devotion to interface implementations and follow-ups to resolve issues completely.
  • Ability to interact frequently with customers in a pleasant manner.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to handle multiple interface projects concurrently, prioritize appropriately, and change focus quickly.
  • Strong written and verbal communication with supervisor, other employees, customers, consultants, and others involved with interface projects.
  • Ability to switch between working independently and with a team as needed.
  • Logging all activities for time spent on interface projects in our CRM system.
  • Basic analysis and reporting on assignments.
  • Make recommendations for improvement of existing processes or implementation of new processes to enhance efficiency.
  • Ability to travel if needed (primarily for internal meetings or functions).
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • HIS experience with a variety of systems (Workday, Infor, MEDITECH, EPIC, McKesson, etc.).
  • SQL experience
  • Experience with Supply Chain in Healthcare or other environments.
Required Education, Credentials and Experience
  • 3+ years in a Healthcare IT environment.
  • BS in Computer Science or related field.
