General Description

Producer:
Acts as student supervisor for FloSports volleyball and basketball broadcasts, ensuring the story of the game is delivered with professional quality; Ensures all FloSports broadcast requirements including graphics, commercial playback, and broadcast quality are met; Operates Production Truck computer and switches shots for FloSports baseball, softball, and lacrosse broadcasts.

Director:
Acts as supervisor to technical crew for FloSports volleyball and basketball broadcasts, ensuring the visual story of the game is delivered with professional quality, and ensures all technical aspects are in working order.

Remote Producer:
Acts as remote field supervisor for FloSports volleyball and basketball broadcasts in Trustmark Arena. Operate game camera as needed; The Remote Producer ensures that communication and TV signals between Strong Hall and Central State Bank arena are working, and acts as the on-site crew manager for the broadcasts.

Essential Job Duties

Producer:
Act as supervisor for student crew: work with Ops Staff and MC faculty to ensure all crew confirmed; Create broadcast rundown in Ross Inception; Manage commercials for local and network playback; Oversee gameday crew meeting and any crew training necessary; Ensure FloSports network test completed no later than 1 hour before show start; Coordinate show content plan and execution with talent and director; Oversee rehearsals and recording of show content including intros and any interviews required;

Director:
Conduct gameday technical crew meeting and rehearsals; provide any crew training required; ensure all Strong Hall audio, video and intercom systems are configured for game broadcast; Confirm network transmission with FloSports; Manage in-game broadcast content including game action, commercial breaks, replays, and interviews; Coordinate with FloSports Broadcast Producer for execution of production content.

Remote Producer:
Setup cameras for game operation in Trustmark Arena; Confirm Intercom connection to Strong Hall; Setup Press Row audio and video; Setup video display in remote room; Connect SAC scoreboard camera to Strong Hall; Confirm Official Video Review system receiving game cameras; Operate in-game camera as needed; Act as on-site crew manager in Trustmark Arena during game broadcasts; Operate handheld camera for volleyball, basketball, and Acrobatics & Tumbling.

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Preference given to students who have earned a "B" or better in MC 411.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

Producer:
Working knowledge of Ross Inception; Ability to manage a crew of up to 15 peer students; MS office suite; knowledge of the rules and flow of volleyball and basketball games; familiarity with each of the crew positions in Strong Hall; Ability to operate in a team environment on a deadline basis;

Director:
Working knowledge of the technical crew positions required for the FloSports broadcast; ability to manage a crew of up to 14 peer students; Ability to operate in a team environment on a deadline basis; Understanding of the rules and flow of volleyball and basketball games is preferred.

Remote Producer:
Ability to operate in a team environment on a deadline basis; Ability to lift 10lb. cameras and connect media cables as directed; Knowledge of video composition
