Library Director
New London Public Library - New London, Ohio
The New London Public Library, housed in a historic 1915 Carnegie building located on a picturesque Western Reserve village green, seeks qualified applicants for the full-time position of Library Director. The library serves a school district community of approximately 6,500 residents spanning Huron, Lorain, and Ashland counties, operates with an annual budget of approximately $400,000, and is supported by a highly motivated staff of 12 part-time employees, a full-time children's librarian, and an experienced fiscal officer.
In partnership with New London Local Schools, the Library Director will participate in an innovative shared-service agreement that strengthens community access to literacy and information resources. Under this model, the Director will collaborate with the district to ensure the public librarian spends approximately 2 3 days per week embedded within the school library, serving as the district's librarian.

- Collection development and purchasing
- Community relations and outreach
- Intergovernmental and educational partnerships
Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates who possess:
- A Master of Library Science (MLS) degree from an accredited university
(Candidates currently enrolled in an MLS program or with comparable experience will be considered.) - Administrative experience in a public library setting (preferred but not required)
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- A demonstrated commitment to community engagement
- Experience working within a consortium environment, including familiarity with the SEO Library SirsiDynix Consortium (preferred)
- The ability to collaborate effectively with school leadership and educational partners
