Overview

The Mechanical Designer supports the mechanical design, documentation, and development of prototype and production products. This role focuses on creating accurate 3D models, engineering drawings, and documentation packages using SolidWorks or similar CAD tools. Responsibilities
Creates mechanical packaging and enclosure designs that support product functionality, manufacturability, and environmental requirements. Maintains and updates bills of materials (BOMs), drawing packages, and engineering documentation throughout the product lifecycle. Works closely with the engineering team to ensure accurate integration of components and assemblies. Supports prototype builds by preparing models, drawings, and documentation needed. Assists in validating design specifications, Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), and part documentation. Ensures all CAD files, revisions, and documentation follow established PLM and document control processes. Supports environmental design considerations such as thermal management, EMI shielding, and vibration constraints by incorporating requirements into CAD models. Manages multiple design tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines, quality standards, and cost objectives. Qualifications
AA or BA degree in Mechanical Design, Drafting, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in CAD design for mechanical or electromechanical products. Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (or equivalent CAD software) and familiarity with PLM/document control systems. Working knowledge of materials, fabrication methods, and mechanical packaging of electronic assemblies. Strong attention to detail, organization, and revision control.
