Position Title: Drama Technical Director
Immediate Supervisor: Drama Director/Assistant Principal/Principal
POSITION SUMMARY The job of “Drama Technical Director” is to support the Drama Director in overseeing the Forest Grove High School Theatre Department. The District believes that extra‑curricular activities and the area of performing arts are an integral part of school life. All students, regardless of their ability, should take part if possible to be able to grow physically, intellectually, and socially through participation. The Assistant Drama Director will help organize and conduct the theatre programs to meet the needs of the school district and their participants.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Exhibit exceptional integrity and character at all times
Act as a positive role model in the school and community
Cultivate a program culture that demands respect between participants
Recruit students within the school to participate in the program
Collaborate with and follow direction of the Administration
Assist in Organizing the specific theatre program so that it is consistent with the District and building goals and objectives for students/performers
Communicate with participants in a manner that models respect.
Support the academic achievement of student/performers
Oversee other staff that contribute in the theatre program
Demonstrate proper active supervision during all scheduled activities of student‑performers including, but not limited to, performances, practice, auditions, and after events.
Be accountable for expenditures and fund‑raising in accordance with established District procedures and written approval of the administration.
Follow current District procedures for the handling of program finances
Be responsible for the care, distribution, and collection of District equipment and supplies
Develop and maintain a positive rapport with students, parents, and assist theatre staff throughout the program
Assume responsibility for the conduct and performance of program participants
Report any behavior that endangers the physical, emotional or mental safety of anyone in the program to the Athletic Director within 24 hours
Develop and implement an off‑season program for your athletes
Cooperate and collaborate with all staff responsible for facilities.
Develop, articulate and implement a vision for the theatre program
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in and/or knowledge of the theatre tech.
Ability and willingness to effectively communicate in verbal and written modes with student performers, parents, assistants, and other school staff
Ability and willingness to perform responsibilities in accordance with school and District procedures and policies
Maintain integrity of confidential information relating to students, staff, or District patrons
The ability to work harmoniously with others and collaborate solutions to concerns
Successfully pass criminal background check
