We are looking for an experienced editor and writer with strong knowledge of specialty coffee to join the team as a Digital Editor for PDG Media. This role will see the candidate write, edit, and publish editorial content across a portfolio of publications.
We are looking for someone to join the team to edit and commission editorial content for a range of internal and external publications, manage freelance writers, liaise with clients, build content calendars, and support our wider publishing team.
We want somebody who is able to spot a typo from a mile away as well as being comfortable speaking with clients on calls. Experience with SEO will also set you apart.
Editorial experience is also important, and we are generally looking for candidates who have degree-level education in a relevant discipline. You will be expected to be both highly organised and comfortable speaking to multiple sources, as well as building a network of trusted coffee sector experts.
This role is perfect for someone looking to take their next step as an editor with a few years’ experience. This is a full-time, permanent, remote position, open to anyone based in Europe or the UK.
Responsibilities:
Write and edit insightful, SEO-optimised coffee industry content for our clients.
Develop & implement a consistent keyword strategy for content across all publications
Schedule content on our CMS (WordPress)
Commission content on a regular basis to get ahead
Manage the content calendar – you will need to be extremely diligent and organised to keep up
Suggest new topics for articles
Organise your own workload effectively
Communicate regularly with in-house and freelance writers, editors, social media professionals, and designers
Interview coffee supply chain stakeholders to learn about their experiences and thoughts.
Skills/experience:
2 years’ editorial experience in a fast-paced environment – such as a busy newsroom or a content marketing agency
Good experience of specialty coffee (e.g. working as a barista or coffee roaster)
Experience managing content calendars
Understanding of SEO best practices and keyword research
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with writers and editors from all around the world
CMS experience (e.g. WordPress)
Expertise with Google Analytics/Google Search Console
Familiarity with SEO tools like Semrush/Ahrefs or similar
Additional language (e.g. Spanish, French, Italian)
