Are you looking to lead as a consultative business partner who actively contributes to the strategy of an organization? Proactively identify and align with the most critical business priorities to drive strategic decision making through your specific role and department. Demonstrate strong business acumen and the ability to leverage data insights to influence business strategies and outcomes to drive ROI with our talent. Establish and maintain open, clear, and transparent communication with both internal and external key stakeholders to ensure alignment, collaboration, and the successful achievement of business objectives. The position reports to the Senior Director, Human Resources, and operates with limited supervision while supervising the local Administrative Assistant. This role manages Human Resources practices and policies at our union facility and is responsible for labor/employee relations, safety and health programs, union negotiations, training, recruiting, benefits administration, compensation, and other duties as necessary to ensure the maximum effectiveness of the Human Resources function. Oversee labor relations and contract administration for the facility, including facilitating a partnership with the union bargaining committee, participating in contract negotiations, and administering grievances. Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging environment where employee needs are exceeded and leaders are supported. Provide direction and guidance to local management and employees on HR activities, including labor relations, attendance, records management, job bid/hiring process, and policy/procedures. Conduct interviews and oversee recruiting for the facility to hire qualified individuals in open positions. Coordinate plant safety programs, chair safety committee, conduct safety training, advise management on plant safety policies and OSHA standards, and recommend necessary compliance actions. Review, guide, and administer employee disciplinary actions and involuntary termination procedures. Conduct investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forth. Manage the Administrative Assistant function, including hiring/firing, performing performance reviews, training, and workflow management. Manage the onboarding process for all local hires, including background checks, documentation, new employee orientation, I-9 compliance, announcements, and ensuring key training & policy acknowledgments. Oversee payroll processing for the facility, including auditing payroll records and handling payroll inquiries (e.g., court-ordered child support deductions and garnishments). Support employees through all phases of benefits enrollment and assist with benefit issues, escalating to the Benefits Manager as needed. Coordinate workers’ compensation and unemployment claims processing with third-party administrators, outside counsel, and state agencies; maintain OSHA and WC files and logs. Identify training and development needs and assist in delivering programs to meet plant needs. Oversee local performance management; review performance evaluations and provide recommendations to managers for feedback handling. Manage leaves of absence, interfacing with vendors for STD, FMLA, and WC; oversee ADA and other unpaid leaves. Ensure personnel records are maintained and the HRIS complies with company policy and government requirements. Perform other duties as required within the scope of work. Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field and a minimum of five (5) years of HR experience in a generalist or management role. Three (3) years of experience in a manufacturing or unionized environment is preferred. Strong communication and organizational skills with a positive, determined attitude. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel. Experience with Dayforce HCM is preferred but not required. Ability to learn quickly and multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information and work with all levels within the organization. Physical and salary information
Physical demands: Occasionally stand, walk, or sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. May lift/move objects up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Salary range: 110,000–135,000 per year.
