
Executive Director of Federal & State Grants and Sponsored Programs

Jackson College is seeking an experienced and strategic grant leader to serve as Executive Director of Federal & State Grants and Sponsored Programs.
This executive-level role leads the College’s enterprise strategy to secure federal, state, foundation, and legislative funding that advances institutional priorities and strengthens long-term capacity.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and manage a forward-looking federal and state grants pipeline
- Monitor and forecast competitive funding opportunities
- Lead development of complex, high-value federal and state proposals
- Develop Legislative Directed Spending (LDS) and Congressional Designated Spending (CDS) requests
- Direct cross-functional proposal teams and ensure compliant budgets
- Provide executive oversight of post-award compliance and risk
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressively responsible grant development experience
- Demonstrated success leading competitive federal and/or state proposals
- Experience managing complex deadlines and cross-functional teams
- Strong writing, editing, and project management skills
- Availability for non-standard hours during proposal periods
Preferred: Master’s degree; experience with major federal community college grants; appropriations/LDS/CDS development experience.
