Director of Information Technology (IT)
Position Overview
The Director of Information Technology (IT) will lead the IT department, overseeing the strategic planning, implementation, and management of technology solutions that support and enhance the company's financial services. This role requires a visionary leader with a strong background in financial services technology, capable of driving innovation and ensuring the security and efficiency of IT operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: Develop and execute the company's IT strategy in alignment with business objectives, focusing on enhancing consumer lending and insurance services.
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee the maintenance and optimization of IT infrastructure, ensuring robust support for all financial products and services.
- Cybersecurity: Implement and monitor comprehensive cybersecurity policies to protect sensitive customer data and maintain compliance with industry regulations.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the IT team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Project Management: Lead technology projects, including system upgrades and the integration of new financial technologies, ensuring timely and budget‑conscious delivery.
- Vendor Relations: Collaborate with external technology vendors and service providers to procure and manage IT solutions that meet the company's needs.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all IT operations comply with legal and regulatory requirements pertinent to the financial services industry in Puerto Rico.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the financial services sector.
- Proven experience in managing IT infrastructure and implementing technology solutions in a financial services environment.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity protocols and experience in safeguarding financial data.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of developing high‑performing teams.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements affecting financial institutions in Puerto Rico.
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Spanish.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with digital transformation initiatives in the financial services industry.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies and their application in financial services.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, CISSP, or ITIL.
