The UDairy Creamery is a non-profit, student-run enterprise of the University of Delaware’s College of Agriculture and Natural Resources. Under the guidance of industry professionals, students receive a hands-on, immersive education in the principles of food science, safety and production, dairy science, business management, entrepreneurship, and sustainable agriculture. Role Description
The Social Media and Marketing Intern is responsible for creating content for and maintaining social media accounts for the UDairy Creamery (Flagship), the UDairy Creamery Café, and the UDairy Creamery Production Facility. This position collaborates with the College of Agriculture & Natural Resources communications team and upholds the University of Delaware and UDairy Creamery Brand Guidelines. This intern is expected to attend weekly meetings and schedule on site visits to the UDairy Creamery, Café, and Dairy Production Facility to create promotional content. Serve as a UDairy Creamery representative, developing connections with the campus community with the goal of communicating how our products are made, the precautions we take to ensure the safety and well-being of our customers, and the logic as to which flavors are created or returned into rotation. Become an expert on the UDairy philosophy, mission statement and partnership- be able to communicate that information confidently. Complete tasks as assigned by the Creamery Management Team. Attend scheduled UDairy Intern Meetings. Primary Responsibilities
Create content and maintain regular activity according to branding guidelines for all social media accounts (Facebook & Instagram) Create video and photography content for social media posts Use Canva or other professional social media apps to create posts Assist with taking photos of new flavors and edit in Photoshop for website pictures Maintain, update and release monthly newsletter & monthly birthday coupon (Mailchimp) Attend Creamery events to conduct live posts, take photos/video, and represent the creamery Create flyers or other creative print materials needed for Creamery events or specials Qualifications
At least 1 year of marketing and content creation experience Must have excellent communication and time management skills and the ability to work independently on projects Position Requirements
While schedules can vary, Interns meet weekly at either the Flagship location or Creamery Café. Initial training will take place 5-10 hours per week for the first few weeks of the internship. After training, interns will spend 10 to 15 hours a week on projects, a mix of on-site and from home. Interns must be available to work during the summer. Winter session is not required but is encouraged. While the position is open until filled, students are expected to start work during the spring semester (2026) and complete their internship on the last day of classes at the end of the following spring semester (2027).
