Overview Position will begin in Summer/Fall 2026. Interviews will take place in Spring/Summer 2026.

This internship provides a dynamic and creative student with a passion for graphic design an opportunity to support the College of Arts & Media marketing team. The intern will assist with the creation of digital, print, web, and video marketing assets that increase the visibility and awareness of department productions, exhibitions, and performances. The CAM Marketing Team offers real‑world skills and training that benefit future careers. The intern will report to the Assistant to the Dean (head of the CAM marketing team) and the Graphic Design Specialist.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 3.0 GPA.

Completed Scholarships4Kats application on file (eligible for scholarship if funding is available).

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.

Familiar with design requirements for social media platforms, especially Instagram and Facebook.

Familiar with designing for print publications as well as digital publications.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Capability to handle a fast‑paced marketing environment.

Creative personality with a passion for arts and media.

Duties and Expectations

Prepare designs on strict deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Create graphics for social media, digital signage, web banners, posters, postcards, and more.

Collaborate with CAM faculty/staff on design needs for upcoming events.

Facilitate concept meetings with CAM faculty/staff.

Collaborate with social media, copywriting, video, and photo interns on PR and marketing needs.

Assist with college events as needed.

Complete other projects assigned.

Hours & Pay

Starting pay of $13 per hour.

Minimum 20 hours per week; flexible schedule; hours may vary.

Occasional nights and weekends may be required.

Other Requirements for the Position

Learn and use web applications for project management and cloud storage.

Communicate openly, effectively, and frequently with team admins.

Work collaboratively with other members of the CAM Marketing Team.

Communicate professionally and respectfully with students, faculty, and staff.

Maintain confidentiality of CAM information.

Learn and follow all college and Sam Houston State University brand standards.

Assist and participate in the organization and execution of CAM-sponsored events that may include nights or weekends (e.g., Saturday@Sam, Bearkat Family Weekend, Tailgating at Bearkat Alley).

Other duties as assigned.
