General Description
Under the direction of the Office Manager, this position performs entry-level to routine customer service work. Responsible for performing general clerical duties and provides customer service and information to the public for Davis Mountains State Park. Responsible for fee collection, automated campsite registration and accounting for daily revenue. Operates credit card machine and visitor registration computer. Processes and distributes incoming and outgoing mail. Prepares reports and correspondence and maintains files. Performs light preventive maintenance and cleaning of office and restroom areas. Works under close to moderate supervision, with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Performs additional duties as assigned. Complies with all Agency, Division and Branch rules, regulations and procedures. Note: Position may fluctuate between full-time/part-time hours based on operational needs. Minimum Qualifications
Education: Graduation from High School or GED. Experience: No experience required. Licensure: Must possess a valid State driver\'s license. Note: Retention of position contingent upon obtaining and maintaining required license. Preferred Qualifications
One year experience in areas such as general clerical, customer service or front desk reception or cash handling. Experience in accounting, typing, record keeping, and data entry. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of general office procedures and administrative and clerical procedures; basic mathematics. Skill in using MS Word, Excel and Outlook; effective verbal and written communication; quality customer service; using standard office equipment; preparing reports. Ability to train others; accurately handle cash and account for revenue; work independently with minimal supervision; work as part of a team; handle multiple tasks; work under stressful conditions; maintain flexibility with interruptions and changing priorities; comply with TPWD safety program. Working Conditions
Work in a public park with overnight camping and day use. 10 to 40 hours per week; variable hours, including days off other than weekends/holidays. Position may fluctuate between part-time and full-time; schedule changes may affect leave accrual, longevity pay, and health insurance rates. May be required to operate a State vehicle; travel up to 5% with possible overnight stays. Non-smoking environment in State buildings and vehicles. TPWD is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
