TPWD - Customer Service Representative I (Fluctuating Hours) Job Type: Regular, Full Time (30 Hours or More), Permanent Employment, Day Shift, Agency

GENERAL DESCRIPTION Under the direction of the Office Manager/Team Leader, this position performs entry‑level to routine customer service work. Responsibilities include performing general clerical duties and providing customer service and information to the public for Daingerfield State Park. Duties comprise assisting with the daily operations of revenue collection and accounting, automated registration and reservation of visitors, answering telephones, preparing correspondence and reports, and performing general cleaning of park headquarters and park store. Works under close to moderate supervision, with minimal latitude for use of initiative and independent judgment. Performs additional duties as assigned and complies with all Agency, Division and Branch rules, regulations, and procedures. Position may fluctuate between full‑time and part‑time hours based on operational needs.

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Graduation from High School or GED.

Experience: No experience required.

Licensure: Must possess a valid State driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience: One year of experience in general clerical, cash handling, or customer service.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of general office procedures, administrative and clerical procedures, basic math calculations, accounting/accountability of revenue collection.

Skill in using MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Skill in effective verbal and written communication, standard office equipment, and basic report writing.

Skill in providing quality customer service in a courteous and professional manner, establishing and maintaining effective work relationships, accurately handling cash and revenue, multi‑tasking, general routine office cleaning, and working independently with little or no supervision.

Ability to work as a member of a team, prepare and maintain detailed records, files, and reports, respond to public inquiries timely, and conduct work activities in accordance with TPWD safety program.

WORKING CONDITIONS Required to work 10–40 hours per week, including various schedules outside of 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., and days off other than Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Must adjust to changing schedules, conform to TPWD dress and grooming standards, work rules, and safety procedures. This position will fluctuate between part‑time and full‑time status; changing status may impact leave accrued, longevity pay eligibility, and health insurance rates. May be required to operate a State vehicle and travel 5% with possible overnight stays. Non‑smoking environment in all State buildings and vehicles.
