
Sr Communications Specialist

Overview
Under limited supervision, plans, develops, implements and evaluates effective intermediate communication efforts including strategy development, content determination, creative direction, research, writing, editing and validation.
Essential Functions
Recommends project budgets and forecasts anticipated budget spending.
Coaches others in less senior positions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Information
Serve as a primary HR Communications partner for the Surface Operations organization, translating complex HR programs, policies, and processes into clear, actionable messages for frontline and management audiences.
Maintain HR content in Surface Ops specific frontline communications channels, ensuring messaging is timely, relevant, and aligned with operational priorities.
Support global, enterprise-wide HR initiatives by developing coordinated communication plans, aligning messaging with international partners, and ensuring consistency across regions and subsidiaries.
Collaborate with cross functional HR partners—including Talent Acquisition, L&D, Total Rewards, Culture, and Change Management—to plan and execute key HR programs and ensure coordinated, employee-focused communication strategies.
Minimum Education Bachelor's Degree/equivalent.
Minimum Experience Three (3) years directly related experience.
More advanced degrees may offset experience requirements. A related Master’s Degree equals two (2) years experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Demonstrated experience in institutional or corporate communications with an emphasis on communication planning/analysis and exposure to print and non-print media strategies.
Ability to study complex data and broad business strategy and convert into practical, effective communication strategies.
Proficient analytical, problem-solving, organization, creativity, grammar, writing and human relations/relation management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Proven ability to craft clear, engaging, and empathetic communications on HR programs, policies, and change initiatives for diverse employee groups.
Experience partnering with cross functional teams to deliver communications that support transformation initiatives.
Pay Transparency Pay: Memphis, TN Pay Range: $5,662.27/mo - $9,342.75/mo; Plano, TX and Pittsburgh, PA Pay Range: $5,960.29/mo - $9,834.48/mo. (E25)
Additional Details This position will be hybrid in Memphis, TN, Plano, TX and Pittsburgh, PA and candidates must live within a 50 mile radius. This position is hybrid, meaning that employees will be required to work at a FedEx Campus location several times per week.
