About the Opportunity
Fibrenew-Fox Valley North
is a local mobile restoration business specializing in custom leather and vinyl work for residential and commercial clients (examples include restaurant, medical and residential furniture). We're looking to partner with a skilled, detail-oriented tailor/seamstress/upholsterer for ongoing freelance contract work. This person will be responsible for repairing and refurbishing items by replacing damaged materials in various settings, including homes, cars, boats, airplanes, and commercial environments. The day-to-day tasks include working on upholstery projects and sewing. What You’ll Be Doing
Replacing/creating custom covers using vinyl or leather (sometimes cloth) Work from your own location with your own equipment Projects examples include residential furniture cushions, restaurant seating, exam table tops, headrests, and bench covers No direct customer interaction—we drop off materials and pick up finished work Qualifications
Based in or near Southeastern McHenry County Experience in commercial/residential upholstery/sewing of leather, cloth and vinyl Experience in furniture restoration Must have your own industrial sewing machine and workspace Ability to work from templates or basic measurements Ability to work independently and manage a remote schedule Reliable, deadline-driven, and effective communication skills
