Position Summary:

As Assistant Director of IR, this position provides leadership for reporting and analysis work of the Institutional Research Office, provides campus-wide data systems oversight for the Jenzabar ERP, and oversight to campus data warehousing. As Academic Database Manager, this position is responsible for maintaining the student academic database, providing data management and advanced reporting support to the Registrar’s Office. This position oversees maintenance of the registrar web site. Essential Functions:

Registrar’s Office Takes primary responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of the student academic database Meets weekly with the Registrar to ensure registration and advising systems are maintained, and to support Registrar as needed with reporting and analysis Dedicates substantial time at the beginning and end of each semester to supporting registrar’s office in registration, student advising, and commencement Responsible for Registrar Office website Jenzabar Academic Modules (Advising and Registration) Manager Primary person responsible for the Registration and Advising Modules, keeping abreast of technology updates to the software and helping to train registrar office staff in new computer procedures. This involves, but is not limited to, building academic programs, maintaining student academic records and training both students and advisors in making maximum use of the module. Liaison to Information Technology Services (ITS) regarding matters of computer performance, interfacing and database issues and problem solving. Institutional Research: Reporting and analysis Work with data users across campus to maintain and develop reports that inform decision-making at all levels. Establish and maintain key data structures that function as the institution’s data warehouse and drive institutional reporting Together with other IR staff, ensure that institutional research activities as outlined in the IR office calendar are completed on time and with a high degree of accuracy Provide analysis, reporting, and data in response to ad hoc requests from various campus offices, committees, and groups Manage administration of student course evaluations and serve as the college’s liaison to Campus Labs Ensure timely and accurate dissemination of key institutional reports, including the annual reports of the Registrar’s Office Ensure timely and accurate enrollment reporting to federal and state agencies as well as the National Student Clearinghouse Together with other IR staff, ensure accurate and timely response to external surveys such as ICI, College Board, Common Data Set, etc. Establish and maintain familiarity with institutional data structures, with particular expertise pertaining to registration and advising, student life, and alumni and friends (non-giving data). Together with other IR staff, provide institutional-level leadership to ongoing review and revision to existing institutional reporting patterns with a particular focus on eliminating redundancy and enhancing efficiency Supervisory Responsibility:

Student assistants as needed. Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree with emphasis on information technology, business and/or statistics or equivalent experience. Minimum of three years of demonstrated competence in a related position. Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

Advanced experience with relational databases and SQL-based data management and reporting REQUIRED:

Advanced technical proficiency with relational databases, SQL, reporting tools such as InfoMaker or SQL Server Reporting Services, and Microsoft Office (particularly Excel). Strong analytical ability with exceptional attention to detail and data accuracy. Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment. Sound judgment, professionalism, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality in line with FERPA standards. Adaptability and demonstrated capacity to quickly learn new technologies and systems. Occasional overnight travel is required for professional meetings and conferences, totaling approximately 1–3 weeks annually. Physical Demands:

The position may require occasional light lifting of materials weighing up to 25 pounds. Work is primarily performed in a standard office environment and requires extended periods of computer use. The position involves prolonged sitting, frequent use of a keyboard and mouse, and sustained visual focus on computer screens.
