KPMG is currently seeking a Manager to join our

Trade and Customs

practice.

Responsibilities

Meet with and provide advice to clients in a variety of industries on trade and customs compliance matters

Lead and manage client projects including import/export classifications, audits, reviews, program development and training among other areas

Support market development and thought leadership initiatives including articles

Research, write, and review advice on various trade topics

Manage project engagement including assembling teams, overseeing work and full engagement responsibilities

Aid in the management, career development, and training of team members

Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG\'s respectful and courteous work environment

Qualifications

Minimum five years of recent direct consulting experience in trade compliance for example 19 CFR, EAR and ITAR including tariff classification, customs valuation, free trade agreements, deemed exports, export jurisdiction and classification of complex products, licenses and other ITAR/EAR export authorizations, technology control plans, Consent Agreements, export controls and sanctions risk assessments and audits and developing sustainable export compliance programs as an attorney, trade consultant, in-house professional or government official

JD / LLM degree is preferred; minimum of a Bachelor's or Associate's degree from an accredited college or university or a minimum of twenty years of comparable experience; licensed customs credentials (e.g., Customs Broker License, Certified U.S. Import/Export Compliance Officer, Certified Customs Specialist, CPA, MBA, EA or JD/LLM) or other approved designations; if not possessed at start, must obtain at least one within one year of hire; list of approved designations/credentials available through recruiter

In-depth experience with U.S. import and export control regulations with the ability to address complex matters with practical and operational advice and solutions

Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication/presentation skills with strong technical skills and the ability to plan and conduct in-depth reviews of transactional data using data and analytics; consulting experience in a leading tax/advisory or trade law firm is highly preferred

Ability to travel both domestically and internationally

California Salary Range: $90,800 - $189,300.
