Assistant Golf Professional

to help keep our golf operations running smoothly while creating memorable moments for every guest. In this role, you’ll assist with daily golf operations, help coordinate tournaments and events, support and supervise golf services staff, and assist with the operation of the pro shop. What does an Assistant Golf Professional do?

Assist the Head Golf Pro in the management of daily golf operations.

Monitor play and enforce all rules and regulations governing the use of the courses and practice facility.

Facilitate the guest check-in process and reservation system.

Provide excellent guest service, advice, and assistance to all golf patrons.

Supervise outside services and pro shop staff; assist with recruiting, training, and scheduling of staff.

Provide individual and group golf lessons.

Assist with the purchase, display, promotion, and sales of golf store/pro shop merchandise.

Provide guests with custom golf club-fitting services utilizing state-of-the-art club-fitting technology.

Develop and coordinate all tournaments at assigned courses, work with clients to define tournament particulars, and oversee the daily operation of each event.

Act as a liaison with tournament sponsors, officials, or other relevant organizations when hosting events.

Maintain detailed tournament information for each event in Delphi and Front Tee.

Work closely with other resort departments such as Sales, Marketing, Hotel and Food & Beverage to ensure the best possible golf experience for guests.

Create, prepare, and analyze various reports on golf operations and assist with planning and budgeting.

Attend golf trade shows and assist in other marketing and promotional activities.

Ensure that all audit exceptions are handled promptly by the pro shop staff.

Adhere to all policies and procedures in the Golf Operations Policies and Procedures Manual.

Conduct performance appraisals of direct reports and ensure performance standards are achieved.

Work Experience To be successful as an Assistant Golf Professional, you'll need:

To be a full PGA member or registered apprentice in good standing with the PGA of America.

An Associate’s Degree in a related field is preferred.

Knowledge and experience in the use of club-fitting and golf swing analysis technology.

Experience in managing all aspects of golf tournaments.

Excellent guest service, oral and written communication, and organizational skills with the ability to keep accurate records.

A valid driver’s license is required.

Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time and lift up to 61 - 70 pounds.
