Overview
Leading food manufacturing company looking for an experienced Continuous Improvement Specialist. Ideal candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technical field with a minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience, or High School Diploma with at least 10 years of manufacturing experience. Responsibilities
Lead changeover improvements for the Chewy Bars platform, working closely with platform teams, floor teams, FSQ, and management to identify and implement efficiency and safety enhancements. Utilize tools such as process mapping, value stream mapping, 5 Whys, and fishbones to identify opportunities outside of cleaning practices for reducing changeover time. Develop and standardize changeover procedures, including resource allocation and pre-changeover planning, to optimize efficiency. Collaborate with FSQ and floor teams to define minimal clean requirements, eliminate overcleaning, and improve standard task flows for faster changeovers without compromising safety. Conduct experiments during changeovers, analyze results, and implement process adjustments promptly. Investigate external best practices from similar sites or industries, including innovative cleaning methods, and adapt them to current operations. Document and train teams on new methodologies, ensuring continuous improvement culture is embraced. Identify and develop capital improvement opportunities; present findings to engineering for implementation. Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technical field with a minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience, or High School Diploma with at least 10 years of manufacturing experience. Knowledge of manufacturing data systems such as MAXIMO, MQIS, INSQL, GSTEMS, ERP, and safety/environment management systems. Proven ability to apply foundational systems and promote system utilization to support continuous improvement initiatives. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience coaching teams in standards and processes to achieve ongoing operational improvements.
