About the Role
The Company is in search of an Executive Director to lead its public radio station. The successful candidate will be a visible, strategic, and community-centered leader, with a focus on community leadership, relationship-building, and fundraising. This role does not require prior experience in public radio or FCC expertise, as the Executive Director will work with a strong and experienced team that handles day-to-day operations. Instead, the emphasis is on long-term strategy, partnerships, and expanding the station's impact across the region. The Executive Director will be responsible for overall station leadership, including operations, programming, financial management, technical compliance, and community engagement. Applicants for the Executive Director position at the company's public radio station should possess demonstrated leadership and organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience in budgeting, financial oversight, and fundraising. While not mandatory, familiarity with public media principles, FCC regulations, and experience with grant writing are preferred. The role requires a hands-on, mission-driven leader who can manage multiple functions within a small team environment and uphold the values of public radio. The Executive Director will also be the primary liaison to the Board of Directors, ensure compliance with relevant regulations, and promote the station as a trusted source of information and culture in the region.
