Join Kellogg Community Credit Union as a Mortgage Loan Processor! This vital role is key to helping our organization achieve its sales, service, and operational goals.
As a Mortgage Loan Processor, you will be responsible for managing first mortgage and home equity loan applications from initial submission to closing. You will ensure that all loan files are complete, accurate, and compliant by collecting and reviewing necessary documentation, coordinating with third-party services, and maintaining regular communication with borrowers, loan officers, underwriters, and title companies. Your contributions will support timely loan approvals while maintaining exceptional service and adherence to regulatory and investor guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Process Home Equity Loans efficiently.
Order and review title work and appraisals.
Set up and calculate escrow accounts.
Ensure compliance with flood requirements.
Demonstrate a basic understanding of mortgage supporting documentation.
Carry out escrow analysis effectively.
Manage home equity mortgage recordings and discharges.
Maintain Home Equity Line of Credit services.
Support processing of first mortgages as needed for departmental needs.
Stay informed of regulatory requirements regarding home equity and mortgage products.
Manage queues efficiently.
Communicate effectively with Loan Officers and borrowers.
Deliver professional, accurate, and helpful service to all members.
Keep management informed about operational issues that may affect the department.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, you should have a minimum of one year of experience in a similar position, along with the ability to motivate and influence others. A strong drive to meet and surpass established goals is essential. A basic understanding of mortgage terms and products is beneficial. Strong PC skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment are important.
