We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Mortgage Loan Processor to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing and processing mortgage loan applications, conducting interviews, and ensuring all required documentation is collected and verified. You will provide accurate disclosures for both fixed- and variable-rate loans, calculate and communicate closing costs, and prepare comprehensive loan packages for closing. Additional responsibilities include verifying employment and financial information, ordering and reviewing credit reports, flood certifications, and title work, and performing preliminary reviews of loan documentation such as appraisals and hazard insurance. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mortgage lending practices, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service throughout the loan process.

Key Responsibilities:

Review and process mortgage loan applications and conduct loan interviews with members when necessary. Follow-up with members to obtain any required documentation.

Provide all applicable disclosures for both fixed- and variable-rate loans.

Calculate closing costs and provide a loan estimate for closing costs to members.

Process loans to include verification of employment, deposit accounts, and all liabilities in order to prepare applications of verified information.

Order and check credit reports to identify credit worthiness of applicants based on industry standards for collateral/equity value.

Request flood certification to identify if property is or is not in a flood zone.

Perform various preliminary reviews on loan files such as title reports, flood determinations, hazard binders, and appraisals.

Order title work from attorney.

Establish repayment and interest schedule based upon loan guidelines and rates.

Prepare closing package, researching and resolving all items in the closing package to ensure closing process is on-time and documentation is complete and accurate.

Perform duties related to loan servicing.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED(required); associate or bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred)

Working knowledge of Fannie Mae guidelines and CFPB regulations (required)

2+ years of experience in mortgage loan processing, underwriting, or a related financial services role

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

Strong communication and customer service skills for member interaction

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and mortgage processing software

Must have the ability to calculate figures, amounts, discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, area, circumference and volume

Proficiency in reviewing credit reports, verifying employment/income/assets, and analyzing title and appraisal documents

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Driver’s license
